Queens University Belfast along with the University of Ulster established NICENT (The Northern Ireland Centre for Entrepreneurship). The primary aim of NICENT is to drive, promote and support entrepreneurship in science and technology subjects.
Queens University adopted a very innovative approach both to the Development of Enterprise Curriculum and to Methods of Teaching. Enterprise Curriculum is now embedded in 18 Science and Engineering schools and over 2000 students per year receive the Queens University Certificate in Entrepreneurship. Experiential methods of teaching have been developed including the use of drama, Business games and live Case Studies.

Leeds University, as part of the White Rose Centre for Enterprise initiative, has enabled the development of a range of enterprise learning materials for use by students in Higher Education. Whilst these materials have been primarily developed for students within the Science and Engineering discipline areas, they have general use and application for a range of students. Typical content includes activities, case studies, teaching materials covering subjects such as communication, networking, teamwork, presentation skills, finance, business planning, intellectual property issues, andmarketing and market research.
